OceaniQ is a prestigious residential complex on the beachfront in the Nusa Dua area of Bali. The project's investor is Oscar Hartmann, an entrepreneur and business angel who has invested in companies such as Auto1 and Cars24. His involvement underscored the seriousness and potential of the complex. OceaniQ has achieved international recognition: the project was named "Best Developer Project of the Year in Southeast Asia" by the International Property Awards, and experts singled it out as "best in construction quality" on the Bukit Peninsula

At the center of the complex is a two-story commercial zone of about 400 m². We were given a clear and ambitious task — to create a restaurant where, regardless of where a guest sits, they witness a “culinary performance.”

The ground floor was designed to feel relaxed and flexible — a balance between café and coworking space. Concrete floors and a rich blue ceiling create a sense of spaciousness and freedom. Metal — stainless steel — serves as an accent: as a light installation, paired with vintage fixtures, it forms an expressive, dynamic composition. A system of transformable furniture — low seating by the windows and tables that easily change configuration — allows the space to adapt to different flows of guests, whether someone is working on a laptop or enjoying coffee with a glass of prosecco.

The second floor has a contrasting mood. A deliberately restrained French bistro style: small floor tiles, ribbed glass partitions forming semi-enclosed zones, and a luxurious marble bar fit naturally into the evening atmosphere. At the center of the space is a pizza oven as a visual performance, and further in — a pasta station, so that every guest, wherever they sit, feels part of the process.

A key aspect of the project is lighting. It was necessary to ensure clear illumination of the tables in the evening while keeping the overall mood soft and romantic. The complexity was heightened by the mobility of the furniture and the transformable work zones. Staff logistics were also carefully worked out: a separate passage between the floors allows waitstaff to serve guests without disturbing their privacy.

The restaurant became a space with two contrasting scenarios: by day, a functional and expressive coworking space; by evening, an elegant bistro with a culinary show. The design, layout, and lighting are all subordinated to creating an atmosphere that matches the concept and the premium status of OceaniQ
