The client — a developer with limited experience working in Bali — set out to minimize risks while still creating a competitive product. A contractor with a proven track record in townhouse construction and transparent pricing was chosen for the build, which made it possible to work out an accurate financial model — a rarity in the Balinese market. The main problem was that the contractor's standard project fell noticeably short of competitors in both architecture and interior design. Our task was to refine the architectural and interior solutions while keeping the budget under control and staying true to Balinese authenticity, with an added layer of European aesthetics.
Architectural Solutions
The original architecture had a favorable orientation of the villas toward the interior of the plot, ensuring privacy and allowing the buildings to be placed fairly densely while observing all setbacks required by the land zoning. We kept the overall architectural concept as the most predictable to implement, while reworking the landscape placement of the pools and lounge areas to improve comfort.
Interior
The layouts were fully reconsidered: functionality was improved, and storage areas and furniture placement were optimized. The finishes use warm tones paired with a cool-toned flooring — a color combination characteristic of Balinese architecture. The atmosphere is enhanced by authentic light fixtures and decorative dry-branch greenery.
On the ground floor, panoramic windows face the pool, opening a view from the living room and bedroom and allowing direct access to the water. Relocating the pool became one of the key improvements to the project.
Features and Functionality
Each villa has a rooftop suited for yoga, a grill area, and relaxing with panoramic views of the surroundings. Despite the dense layout, the project retains the privacy and functionality expected in its price segment.
The complex is located above Berawa, one of the busiest streets in Canggu, and is already available for short-term rental.
